Gravity

Astronomy, gravity, Kepler's laws, geostationary satelites, earth and moon system are topics in these animations.
Play and experiment with these games and animations about gravitational pull. Observe the effects gravity has on objects, planets and stars. Gravity keeps the planets in their orbits around the sun. Gravity "glues" us to the surface or the earth. Gravity confines the atmosphere to a layer around the earth.

Freefall of objects on earth

Falling objects on the earth are subjected to air-friction. Experiment with several falling objects. Draw graphs of acceleration, velocity and distance against time.

Canon balls as projectiles

Shoot with a cannon and observe the traject of the cannon ball.

Satellite around the Earth

Learn about satellites around the earth and then play a game where you have to dock a satellite with a space station.

Planets

Grab one of the planets in this two-planet system and swing it around. With this animation you can learn about how planets behave in a gravity field.

Earth - Moon system

This animation shows the Moon circling around the Earth as seen from a point in space far to the South. Learn more about our Earth - Moon System. Gravity is the force acting between the objects.

Earth - Moon - Sun system

The Sun - Earth - Moon sytem as seen from a point in space far to the South. Learn about seasons. Question: Is the Moon moving up or down when you see it rising?
